Heroes in the Hangar | A Suitcase Party Benefitting Veterans

Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of crossing paths with Megan Whitt, Executive Director at the 3rd and Goal Foundation.

Megan explained how the organization serves veterans by modifying their homes to be accessible, helps combat their homelessness, provides educational programs through Ohio State University and the University of Notre Dame, and adopts these families during the holidays.

On May 3, 2019, the inaugural “Heroes in the Hangar: A Suitcase Party” was held at the MPW Aviation Center. $84,000 was raised for the organization during the event. Birdhaus Co. supported 3rd and Goal by providing the design of the print materials. We worked alongside Megan and a slew of other talented vendors, and the event was one that people were buzzing about weeks later. Did we mention it was held at an airport hangar? And that one lucky winner got an all-expenses paid trip to Chicago (departing directly that night from the hangar, of course!)? As the sun set, guests watched planes taking off from John Glenn Columbus International Airport, listened to a live band, sipped cocktails and ate bites from culinary vendors from around the city.
